1 shanthi road

After walking for an hour through Shanti Nager, going through each and every cross of Lakshmi Road, asking everyone about 1 Shanti Road, and foolishly not telling anyone about the Utsav darshini, (which would have been the wiser thing to do) reached 1 Shanti Road. This place is just a lane inside double road, but by the stroke of luck we got down from the auto on the other side of Shanti Nagar and got inside the first lane which we saw....and thus the whole journey started. It was quite interesting......we saw a lane which reminded me of Malviya Nagar and Giri was transported to Sheikh Sarai, incidentally both the places are in Delhi...it was something to do with the noise and the din and the cars parked inside narrow lanes and the houses touching each other with grill gates and open main doors...
1 Shanti Road has a gallery space and it also has artist in residence programme tied up with Max Mueller Bhawan. Initially it felt like as if we are encroaching upon someone's private space...but everyone coming out of the place towards the open courtyard smiled at us and left us alone with our exploration of a notebook, seed pods, temple tree and everything else around...it was nice...a really nice welcome.....no questions asked, no answers given, no tickets, no gatekeeper, no raised eyebrows, no explanation about the space..i left with the desire to go back again and sit there for some more time....

Tia Pakhi Exhibition at Ms. Chandra Jain's Home

Few images from Tia Pakhi exhibition held at Chandra Mam's home in Bangalore. I had the opportunity to be there with Giri and Richa. Beautiful home, well made products using Kantha, tasty laddoos, good tea and oil lamps...these are the memories I am left with....
